Why We Built This Site
Virginia gives the public online access to some court case information, but an OCIS result is not a live warrant certificate. Richmond City has several court custodians: General District Court holds adult misdemeanor, traffic, and ordinance files; Circuit Court keeps felony and circuit criminal records; J&DR holds juvenile and family matters with tighter access limits. A search that returns nothing may reflect court filters, a sealed record, or an event not yet entered. There is no complete public Richmond City active-warrant portal. This resource brings together the OCIS route, court contacts, Sheriff and Police roles, and the City's records-request path so a reader can reach the office that keeps the relevant record.
What You Will Find Here
- Warrant lookups: how to search public Richmond City case information by name, case number, or hearing date through OCIS
- Outstanding warrants: why no full public active-warrant roster was located and how to confirm a case
- Missed court dates: how bench warrants arise and which court holds them
- Charge-based warrants: how the Magistrate reviews probable cause and how arrest process is served
- Resolving a warrant: how to contact the issuing clerk, ask about an appearance, and confirm any bond or recall step
What We Cannot Do
This is a privately run reference site with no connection to a Virginia court, Sheriff's Office, Police Department, or government agency. It has important limits:
- We cannot perform an official Richmond City warrant check or confirm whether process is current
- We cannot remove, recall, quash, or clear a warrant on any system
- We cannot post bond or accept any kind of payment toward a warrant
- We cannot arrange a Richmond court date, surrender, or warrant walk-through
- We cannot give legal advice or tell you how a specific warrant applies to you
- We cannot promise that an office phone, fee, docket, or case entry remains current
Only the issuing court can confirm case process and whether it has been recalled, quashed, served, or returned. The Sheriff can answer custody questions and agency-held record requests, but it does not replace the court's status confirmation.
Search Partners
Some search boxes use outside providers that set their own prices and terms. A paid signup may generate a referral fee that helps support the resource. We do not control provider charges, data handling, or search results, and a partner result is not an official Richmond City warrant confirmation.
